Build Your Own M2HB Browning Replica-Update 03/07/07

Postby TopKick » Wed Jan 24, 2007 2:58 pm

Gentlemen/Ladies,
I know many folks don't have a lot of cash to spend on a replica 50 cal. to show with their vehicle or display. I thought I would show you all some pictures of my home made replica. I will provide drawings with measurements if there is any interest. All you need is a 50 cal. barrel and you can literally make the rest from scrap metal. I suppose you could make it out of heavy plastic if you wanted to. Remember, this is not a "Shooter" and is only for display. However, I am going to try to convert mine to propane. You will notice. A large bolt is welded onto the receiver end of the barrel and there is a matching nut inside the receiver. This makes it easier to carry disassembled. This replica weighs about as much as the real one. Here are the photos:

Looks good. I purchased a old home built one when the MVPA conv was in Memphis. I gave 50.00 for it. I cut the barrel off, got a shot out one from SARCO for 35.00 bucks, had a firing chamber made at a machine shop that matched the treads on the barrel where I could just screw it in, and added a gas fire kit. Has worked well for several years now. :D

I would also like a copy. My dad just got a plazma cutter so he may enjoy helping me build it.
