Re: Tracked As Found
Let me introduce the "Filet O Fish" Halftrack! If it can be called a halftrack, but there are quite a few good parts on it. It came with a complete tree in it, but my father cut it out with a chainsaw before I got a chance to take a picture. darn. I think this one is beyond repair.

Lotsa good stuff there, and if desperate, it could be a rebuild

I sure wish he had left the tree in there. It would have made for a great picture. Oddly enough, the voltmeter is in almost perfect condition and works. It was covered by the other filet.
Clint,
I don't think you want to come to Nebraska after living in Florida. The only redeeming quality we have is Nebraska Football. Oh Yeah!!
Aside from that we have a lot of wind, cold winters, hot summers, and my mother in law. Not worth it at all.
Does anyone know of any other collectors in Nebraska?

Jason,
I've been to Nebraska a bunch of times. It doesn't scare me. Ok yes it does. Btw my dad is a Nebraska grad. Go Huskers!
I have heard there is a halftrack museum somewhere in western Nebraska in a small town. Keep your eyes peeled for me I need another halftrack.

This one's more together than most of the others, but thought I'd share it.
It's sitting in front of "The Dinosaur Walk Museum" in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee...

Re: Tracked As Found
Yeah, I have no idea of what the history is on it, but it would surely be a prime restoration candidate! One of the side panels was unchained, so I took a peak under the hood and noted that the engine was still there, looked to be in pretty good shape (who knows what's under the head though...). Complete drive train and everything looking back underneath and still standing tall on tracks and tires; had Army Air Corps. yellow paint on the undercarriage...? Was that a common paint scheme for half-tracks or does that mean this ones an early one or something?
I just took that picture two weeks ago, so it aught to still be setting there... I noticed it while on my high-school class's Senior trip; had to make everyone else wait in the van while I looked it over.

Re: Tracked As Found
I thought that one in Pigeon Forge had sold? It was on E-Pay last year, being listed by someone in Canada that supposedly had the rights to sell it. Or am I thinking of another one that looked just like it that was sitting in front of a museum in Pigeon Ford, TN...........

Re: Tracked As Found
I checked it out about a year and a half ago as well. There was an antique place behind there as well, that inside had a makshift WWII vehicle museam inside. The vehicles were pretty nice from what I remember. They don't advertise the vehicles inside. It was a pleasant surprise to find them inside. Would love to have that halftrack out front though.

Re: Tracked As Found
This one came from Georgia. It is a M16A1. It was sitting at the end of a lane in a woods about five years ago before being moved to the Dinosaur Museum. It is in very good condition, and is mostly complete.Conn wrote:This one's more together than most of the others, but thought I'd share it.

Re: Tracked As Found
Yeah I remember noticing the antique building behind the museum, but didn't even think about associating the halftrack with it. Sounds interesting; makes me wish I would have gone inside. Unfortunetly I also noticed the antique mall was now closed down and empty...so what's happening to all these MVs I wonder?
