Wanted for pattern-wiper motor wiring harness
Hi slaty collectors.
The USMC and Canadian slat grill were equiped at the factory with a single windshield wiper 6 volts motor ( A-5436 )
As of today, there are no good samples knowed of the wiring harness ( A-5428 ) to have some reproduced with acuracy.
Is one of you have a nice original harness. This would be a nice help for the community.
Regards.

Salut Marc
Ca Va
I have some picts and know where there is a relatively good harness to measure. It is a shielded harness with two eyelets on the end that attaches to the motor.. When you come up to Ottawa for the OMVA Fall Show 20 Oct we can visit our friend who owns it. Or i can send the info off line.
Merci
Eric

I second that! I would love to see photos of an original wiring harness! The early 1944 CJ-2 Agrijeep prototypes also used that same wiper.

A market opportunity ...
If some talented individual would reproduce that electric windshield wiper motor wiring harness A-5428, I'd buy one for my Agrijeep. I think there is a small market here that's very hungry for an excellent reproduction.

You should check with Joe Hall of "Vintage Wiring of Maine" fame. I'm sure a deal could be struck.

I need at least one as well. I got some wire from Joe at Vintage Wiring of Maine, but he did not know what the harness looked like.
I know Frank Berg and I have been tracking a harness out of Scotland somewhere but I have not seen any results yet?
I would like to make sure we are talking about the harness for the correct motor with the stud and filter?

wiring harness
Any information on the harness would be great-if a run was prepared, I would take one for my Canadian slat
I have been told recently that there were civilian and military Dyneto wiper motors-is there anyone who can verify this and if so what are the differences
Cheers Scott

I told John Farley about the harness that George in Scotland have, and last time I spoke with John he was waiting for some info from George. I will call John and ask if he got the details. (As a sidenote.....John will have a new book out soon, and YES, he know about the mistakes in his last book and is not happy about them )
Scott:
I have looked at all the photos available to me and tried to figure out the details. I have asked everyone I have meet that have any kind of info on the subject, but still have a few questions left:
1) Harness: Where was it routed and where was it connected(engine bay). What kind of "loom" was it covered with. What was the color combination on the wires. The wireterminal is most likely of the "eye" type at all four ends.
2) Was it a to post or a singel post connection to the wipermotor? (so far most of the info indicate a singel conection on the motor, with a "earth" conection on the bracket)
The wiper motor had an on/off switch.
If you look at the singelpost type, you will notice the hole for the condensator clamp. That hole is missing on the two post Dynetos....
To post Dyneto.
To post close w/o the conectors.
Singel post (this is how it should be on the CDN MB as far as I have found out)
Switch info from the CDN manual.

WW2 Jeep wiper wiring
Hello Folks
I will share some photos when i find them and then figuire out how to place them on this site.
The wiring is a metal shielded loom and has two eyelets at each end. Ground on the outside and power on the inside. There is a normal cloth loom over the top of the shielded loom.
I have already been in discussion with somebody about making these and will let everybody know when the deal is done. I still have to take the measurements.
The motor has at least one threaded post with a switch on it.
Some models had the switch added to the dash. I have seen at least 4 different versions of the motor
Please try to understand i am writing a book on the WW2 Canadian Jeep with all of these details. This information will eventually be in the book. I can't give all of my findings on the web otherwise i will give away the book.
But when it is done all of my information collected will be shared as i do not beleive in keeping information and not sharing it. Thats why i am doing the book.
This Wiper motor is only just a small part of the book.
Thanks
Eric

Electric wipers
There was a spacer between the special bracket and windshield frame.
I made a copy from an original. This space was for the manual wiper handle. Dirk Leegwater in the Netherlands has original wiper handles and brackets.
Again photos when i get them done.
Cheers Eric
