Hey Doc,
Are you going to restore it to air worthiness or just display? I ask cause that frame looks a little scary.

Yowzers...... .....

Hey Dave I have this bridge I'm sure you'd be interested in...Nah..... seriously....you sure can pick the ones needing a "few repairs"...

Looks doable, with time and patience.....OH!....and patients..... lots of patients who will pay their bills...so you can pay the bills.

Is this for after the Slat and the MG....?

yes, this is after the slat and mg
well....maybe after the slat!
i will painstakingly restore it to new.
i have an A+P and AI to monitor each step
(one has to follow the rules of FAA
if one wants a type certified airplane)
the complete airplane it there...less the fabric covering.
the fuselage is toast!
this plane was crashed into a hill
while coyote hunting here in iowa!!
took out the landing gear and fuselage.
one wing tip is broken but all in all, its not that bad.
i'll update from time to time.
here is pic of the engine
all 65HP of it

He must have backed into that mountain... engine is a 65-hp Continental..... is that right....it looks in good shape Dave.

Shussssshhhh....I used to build super scale R/C aircraft......still have the plans for a few when I'm finished on the jeep.... that's if I can stop Mikey from mooching engines off me...
I flew a Piper Cub for about 10 minutes once out over Hervey Bay, it's owned by a friend who also has a Tiger Moth which he took for a swim off Fraser Island about 12 months ago.

your stats are correct jon
cruising speed is usually about 75mph
and can you guess how long it would
take one to climb to 12k feet in a cub?

John and I put that Pup's nose into the wind over Hervey Bay, and cruised all the rick folk areas, you wouldn't believe how slow the ground speed was, we were being passed by bicycles.
The good news is, those rich folk own back yard pools and the number of young Mums who sunbake in the nude is amazing.....we got lots of waves.....funny way of waving tho'. just the single diget usually. heaps of fun....lots of laughs.
I'll see if I can find the write up of him putting his Tiger Moth into the ocean.

Hehehehe.....yeah.. best if you don't do that Dave....

Every second house around here has a backyard pool of some description, especially in Hervey Bay which is only 15minutes away by car...

Check Google Earth.....Hervey Bay airport has been enlarged to now take jet aircraft ..... no Jumbo's yet....TGFT.....
