Sorry, I am having an issue with the update of my website, the new project pictures are not getting added to the site for some reason.

If you go to this address, http://www.mv-restoration.com/mv_restoration02f_011.htm , you can see the projects page that is not showing on the main site.

I am working on getting this fixed (hopefully by the middle of the week).

The pictures are uploaded and the "normal" link is now corrected.

The color of HMV's is one of those things that is very subjective and is a topic that many long debates have been started over.

This is my opinion: Go with the color that is appropriate for the year the vehicle was manufactured and you will more than likely be safe.

If anyone else has an opinion, please speak up. There is a lot of knowledge here at this forum.

I personally use Gillespie Coatings paint. It works well for me and goes on nicely.

Many suppliers have this product, including the owner of this forum. They (GCI) have distributors nation wide. Most of the MV magazines have dealer ads that sell this product. The choice of vendor is yours.

MV paint

Postby bobc » Tue Jun 20, 2006 8:32 pm

Paint on any military vehicle ecspecially WW2 era vehicles is another confusing topic,so when I was readt to set my bed on my M-2 I took off the cover on the bottom of the dash,it was actually still there, and the paint hadn't seen the light of day for 60 years,I gently washed the dust off and took it to home depot, the gal mixed me a gallon of flat outdoor paint, then I used my wagner airless paintgun, they had installed a flatbed on it (of course) and when I removed this and pressure wased the frame the paint on it matched the paint I used on the bed,you wouldn't know they were painted 60 years apart. I know this isn't proper but it will spend the rest of it's life in a covered shed out of the weather, and since I'm trying to build this without spending any money that should be spent on the family,so for now it will work and at $12.00 a gallon my play money goes alot further.
I'm building a M2A1 halftrack out of three I've aquired, and an open cab CCKW out of four,I also have a WC chassis that I'd like to find a command car body for.
