1942 GPW for sale
Hi folks, I have a 1942 Ford script GPW, s/n 11529, DoD 3/26/42, last 4 digits of hood number appear to be 7917. Based on my research here, the frame is a Murray but I have not been able to verify the frame number as a previous owner welded a bracket over the top of the frame and engine mount when the engine was converted. I don't know what engine is in the vehicle but it's obviously not O.E. and someone here may be able to identify. It currently does not run and I do not know the history. The drive train appears to be complete and it rolls just fine on and off a trailer. I do not have a title.
The tub appears to be pretty solid. There is a bit of rust through in the seams at the bottom of the rear panel near the tailight holes, but the script is intact. The floors look solid except a section that was removed below the driver's seat. As you can tell, a lot of the bolt-on items are missing.
Included is a box of loose parts, gauges, gas tank straps and two extra drive shafts. The gauges in the dash are aftermarket of some sort.
This seems to be a good start for someone looking to do a restoration, and I prefer it go to an enthusiast rather than someone who would hack it up for a trail rig. Thus the reason I found this forum and am posting this ad. I would like to get $2500 but will consider offers if this is not a fair price. Not interested in parting out at this time.

Willys F head engine used in later model Jeep vehicles.I don't know what engine is in the vehicle but it's obviously not O.E. and someone here may be able to identify.

Don't be afraid to make an offer on this GPW. I am certainly not married to it and would like it gone before winter.

Good evening,
Is the jeep still available? If positive for what price can it go?
Thanks,
Rudi
