G-506 Bed Help.

Post by D.R.H. » Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:40 pm

Howdy Gents. Can anyone out there lend a hand in regards to the correct dimensions and type of wood used for the Composite bed, please? What I need right now is just the 2 stringers that are placed between the bed and frame rails. I think I can make an educated guess, but I would really prefer not to leave it up to chance.
Thank you in advance :) . D.

Newc here; The frame to bed stringers? You should have emailed me here in Oregon. I'll have those dim in 5 minutes. Here goes.. From a 'New' composite bed.... Frame stringers [on trk frame] 661/2 [67] X 6 1/2 X 2 1/2 Dried hardwood. Then for the wooden tool box in the rear... notched over the bumperetts 8" long by 1 7/8". remember the wooden tool box is marine 5 ply plywood. I built this bed 10 yrs ago and it's never been outside, always in a dry garage and I had fair original wood to copy. Newc

Thanks TONS and TONS Dale!! I was just talking to my buddy Pintelhook11over about this, only minutes ago. I may have to take a trip down to your neck-o-the woods to see exactly what I need to do. Dave. :)
