Well been down for knee surgery (June 24). Been getting pretty restless, the boss took pity on me and helped me install my radio box in the halftrack. The radio it's self heads to the shop next week. Found a guy in town who repaired them when he was in the service. Still have all the wiring to do but excited to get it up and running.

Took Zelda to a car show at the local High School. 4 miles from the house so I drove it there. Ended up taking Second in the 1940 to 1949 class It was lots of fun and lots of interest from the other owners.

Looks great Don. That's a nice aerial picture. I often get asked what I am going to do with mine and a car show is one of the answers.

Zelda had another busy weekend! Up at Camp Rilea, on the Oregon coast.

Just too much fun. A friend of mine drove, it was fun watching my track drive by and engage the enemy.

Zelda was up at Camp Adair Oregon this last week end. There were 4 Divisions trained there to go overseas during WW2. We represent the 70th ID the Trailblazers. Oregon's own. This Bridge leads to the Engineer Training area on the Luckimute River. 312 miles on Zelda now! Did I tell you I love my Halftrack?

Great photo and fun. It looks like Zelda is the non - official bridge tester.

It's been a while. Don't retire, you'll be too busy to get anything done. Anyway Made another trip up to Camp Adair with the 70th Infantry. Really had a great time. Zelda preformed flawlessly on a 20 mile road march. I've missed driving Zelda.

I did something different in October, decided to take my reenacting to a whole new level. Attended the Airborne Demonstration Team Jump School. Did make my 5 jumps and got my wings....... yeah I'm that dumb

Hello Don,

How sweet it Is !!!!!

You have done a great job, and a great service to American History spending all the time, energy, and funds on restoring this beautiful Halftrack !
I think if You didn't do this major project, on this Halftrack, it is likely nobody would have ever done it.
It is a special accomplishment admired by many,
and achieved by few :D :D :D !!!
You have done it :D :D :D

Your driving it around, showing it to the people, and doing the re-enactments are fantastic !
Camp Adair is a great area, and Oregon so resembles the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, in her natural beauty and forests, it is amazing !

There are some nice monuments to the WW2 Infantry Divisions that trained and deployed from Camp Adair, the 70th Division being one of them.
There are 70th Division monuments at Camp Adair, Or., Spicheren, France, and Fort Benning, Georgia, and soon to be another one at Fort Benning
listing the names of over 950 KIA 70th Division Trailblazers lost in France, as well as the 5 names of KIA from the 70th (Modern Unit) that were lost in Iraq.
God Bless them all,
It is so important to remember history and the Price of Freedom !

The Trailblazers are a great group of Veteran's, then and now, as they all are !!

The 70th infantry Division is also the only division to have a Liberty ship named after them, the SS Trailblazer, built in, and launched from Oregon !!

Best Regards,

Raymond
