For now from last week:
Convoyed 8 miles to our local WW2 era bomber base for a airfest. Attended by B-29 Fifi, A-26, B-25 Miss Mitchell, P-51 gunslinger plus.

Update to the motorpool. Tracks have been angled to face the entrance. 3 done 4 to go.

For the record, It absolutely did not take 2 years for that LVT-4 to clear customs. It was exported with no issues at all. We did spend many many many months getting it operational, sea worthy and prepared for export before it left Fl. for the UK.

Although i have seen it several times , what is the cylinder on the front of the half track. I guess its not a winch, i need enlightening. :?:

Hello Mark,

That cylinder is a " roller " which is intended to keep a Halftrack getting its bumper stuck in a shallow ditch if it has to pull off the road,
and such in cross country and combat use.
The idea was that the roller would hit first and with power from traction with tracks it would roll up the ditch side or obstruction and not get stuck.
