Re: ITM Jeep
Wow,
Your transmission must be like new still,
being rebuilt in 1981 !!
I don't know about the ITM numbers, but it does look like 2 separate stampings

Nice !!!!!!
That is incredible, very interesting markings !!!
It looks like in may be from an Alpine unit, or mountain troops.
The flower looks like an edelweiss, like the Germans used on their 6th Mountain Division Nord patch.
I like it !
I would preserve them on the windshield and keep them on there when you have it restored as it gives a unique history
of your Jeep.
I have never seen those markings, so hopefully someone can identify them, so we can all know.
Keep working on uncovering the unit numbers to identify the regiment and division.
The division should be located above the DM.

Re: ITM Jeep
I need to find out history.
Then I'll see, I'll try to keep it. Perhaps he will.
Marking I already know - maybe 4th RIMa (French navy)

The emblem is the 159 Mounting Infantry Regiment

But he does not agree with that on the bumper

Hi,
That is a great discovery !
Likely just painted over when your jeep was overhauled by the French.
Reassigned to the unit on your bumper, as its last detachment to serve with.
It is a great looking piece of artwork !
Now you know where it may have served.
Really enjoy all your pictures of the jeep project ,

Re: ITM Jeep
Great find and work in progress. I also have a 1959 Hotchkiss, mine was re built at La Maulternee in 1971, not sure of its history after that, it only came into the UK in March 2015. When re building the engine we found a couple of F marked tappets !
Look forward to your progress.

Re: ITM Jeep
Staines, what is the voltage on the jeep ? Oh! it looks a "good one", there should also be an "H" followed by a number on the firewall by the fuel filter bowl.
