Hello everyone
I just entered a 1 ton trailer (Benhur style) it is an ex-French army with the classic modification, wheel support, reinforcements.
On the other hand it is an origin, subject to the back door.
Would you help me to know the manufacturer ??
The numbers registrals indicates the manufacturer, know you give me the prefixes of the different manufacturers?
Pending your answers here are some photos to help with the research.
According to the style of the publication booklet I will tend to say that it is a manufacture Checker

Re: Trailer 1 Ton in Belgium
Hello Prestone,
That is a beautiful trailer !!!
Clearly rebuilt in 1952 by a French facility.
Looks to be in Great condition !
Could be Checker Cab Trailers.
I have 2 Checkers, the tag locations are the same as yours, and spacing look the same.
Both tags have attaching rivets that are raised like the ones in your picture of your existing upper tag.
I appears you have a flat rivet where the tag is missing, that may be French, or a hole filler, or a different manufacturer ?
The spacing is the same on my steel Checker trailers as yours.
My tags are covered in paint, and do not have noticeable raised lettering.
I will have to clean them off to get an accurate look at them and the writing style.
I do not know much info about the Ben Hur Trailers , as I have been working on other things and not my trailers yet, but will soon.
Best Regards,
Ray

Thank you Ray
For the information, for my part the dismantling started and all the screws are marked with the letter "C" which would confirm that we are facing a trailer manufactured by Checker

Great info Prestone !!
I did not know that about the Checker bolts.
I will certainly keep a watch for the marked bolts when I do the restoration.
I have marble reflectors on one of the trailers, and I believe the two trailers I have are consecutive serial numbers.
I bought them last summer from the US Department of Energy and I am the first civilian owner.
They had, I believe , generators in them once, and more recently held large wire spools for electrical wire.
Please add some more action photos of your excellent trailer when you can and your progress !
Best Regards,
Ray
