M422A1 serial number 3799, no hood number. I'll see if I can find the dod and body number tomorrow and update.

Re: MIGHTY MITE SERIAL NUMBERS
Dave look on the back, right rear bumper for the number. That is where I found mine. I believe it would be more representative of what it really is. After all, the hood could be replaced fairly easy.

Re: MIGHTY MITE SERIAL NUMBERS
No dod stamped on the plate. It is titled as a 1964, not sure how the DMV came up with this.
It belonged to my brother who we lost back in May to an accident while bringing down a tree. He found it in a basement of a house that he was cleaning out for a friend. The lady gave him the mite for his work and it was one of his prized possesions. As of right now I am not interested in sanding the paint down to find any hood numbers, just want to keep it the way he left it. I will however, be working on the general maintenance (tune-up, lubrication, drive train, etc.), just so that it can be driven occasionally.
My name is Todd, but it will always be David's mite.

Re: MIGHTY MITE SERIAL NUMBERS
I have m422 serial # 111 it has been in my family for about forty years. Ran last time I had it out about five years ago. Has nos engine installed and original engine sitting on a run in stand. Currently packed to the gills with parts sitting in the corner of my garage awaiting some much needed love.

Re: MIGHTY MITE SERIAL NUMBERS
The body number is stamped in 1/2" numbers where the red arrow is pointing. If you have a couple of layers of OD like my 422 you may need to clean it up with some steel wool to be able to read it.
My body no is 499 chassis no 538.

Re: MIGHTY MITE SERIAL NUMBERS
took a look at the mite over the weekend and it has # 11 stamped where you indicated. I also have the original engine for it. where would I find an engine number stamped at? Or does the engine number not correspond with anything else?

If the body numbers began at 101 like the vehicle numbers then you must have more numbers.it has # 11 stamped where you indicated

M422A1 3494 chassis with 3053 body tub - No data plates, No DoD; now pending body restoration
M422A1 3407 - No DoD stamped - was incomplete parts car.
Any help with delivery dates for this SN range would be appreciated. The California DMV morphed the previous '63 title into a new '07 model year when the title transferred.
