With help from the lord and 'ol Henry Ford
With help from the lord and 'ol Henry Ford
i was built just before '43
Then i spent world war two
out there fighting for you
to help keep our america free
For the next fifty years i kept turning my gears
up in Plover on John Kittel's farm
For like every old jeep
i would work for my keep
then at night i would sleep in the barn
With me showing my age all my kids are the rage
i hope they too we keep us from harms
And never let parish
all the freedoms we cherish
Like to vote and the right to bear arms
i was built just before '43
Then i spent world war two
out there fighting for you
to help keep our america free
For the next fifty years i kept turning my gears
up in Plover on John Kittel's farm
For like every old jeep

then at night i would sleep in the barn
With me showing my age all my kids are the rage
i hope they too we keep us from harms

This poem is about the true story of this Script GPW that my oldest brother found years ago while in college, and which he still owns ! My Dad created the poem, and when i would ask, he would recite it while we would be riding around in are army jeeps. I thought it was so good i decided to put it writing. Out of respect for my brother i will wait till he has the time to write about the story here on the G. It's a great story. I am putting it back up front in case anybody would enjoy reading it.

Hi mate,
In the first pic, I can just faintly see that this nice jeep has a mirror arm on it. Would you mind sharing some more photo's of that mirror arm please?
i`m trying to collect some data on mirror arms and generate a pattern of what was fitted to what. I grant all these years have gone by, but worth a shot!
Thanks in anticipation,
Ian.

Nice poem, and i love the jeep photos. The only thing better than a jeep is two jeeps.

Hi Ian, Sorry to say it's packed away in winter storage in Madison Wisconsin U.S.A. So I can't get you any Pics right now. I can however tell you that it is the same type that's used on all the Standard Ford and Willy's Jeeps I've seen.

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me! I might catch you when you have it out in summer again instead of packed away for winter!
Cheers,
Ian.
