VEP GPW Bell Housings

Post by Michael O. » Thu Feb 01, 2018 12:49 pm

Can you guys post some photos of GPW bell housings that do not have the raised boss or the threaded hole? I’ve never seen one. Jay Hinton...you’ve said that you’ve seen a lot of these?Tom W...would you happen to know the changeover date from “no hole” to those with just the hole?

I have several early GPW bell housings without the raised boss for the handbrake cable clamp but they all have the threaded hole. I’m trying to consolidate the parts I’ll need for GPW 2647 (2-26-42).

Looks like that's a Willys Bellhousing as it has a date code. Its not GPW.

But a very nice example of a somewhat rare Willys housing. What is the date code on the housing?

In looking at the E bay listing sited below by 17th airborne it looks like it is a November 6th casting date. And I would assume 1941.

Oz, that’s an early MB bell housing.

To date, no one has provided photographic evidence that no-hole GPW bell housings existed.
