My tool boxes have the ribs behind the opening. I am not sure if I am recording the proper details regarding the comment in the list "no ribbed reinforcement toolbox", 10-12 Mar 1942 era Please comment:

Thanks for adding these great images. I've updated the list of what is photographed with your two new posts.

Keep those images coming!!, we are going to get an entire VEP GPW with all the details in one thread. It should make all of our lives easier and elicit some great discussions about what was, what is and what should be with regards to correct 'type" parts and marking.

Perhaps this is what Ian meant about the BO light switch.

It had a green Sheller, and has F marks everywhere, but weirdly not many F script bolts.
Bolts appear to be plain, although the bolts on the gearbox/Transfer/axles are definitely F marked.

My glove box has no key - has original data plates on it, but has a keyed ignition.

Bumperette is F marked, as was the steering box, chassis, radiator, bellhousing.

I'm not 100% sure this wasn't a refurb candidate as it has a MB motor, but everything else is Ford apart from one front leaf spring.
Can you get some images of your glove box and the keyed ignition? Thanks

Here is a link to a good discussion on the air cleaners. It seems there is no definitive data on when in March 1942 the 8000 AC air cleaners began to be superseded by the Oaks Air Cleaners with the applied decal. It seems to me somewhere around the GPW 6500 range, near the last third of March for example, but it may have been different depending on what plant the jeep was produced at. I suppose this riddle will never really be truly solved, so anyone in the 6000 range could go either way, sort of like society today
