FS - Rear Axle/Scalloped

Post by pittsjock » Mon Jun 05, 2017 6:29 pm

I have an early complete GPW rear with scalloped axles. The spider gear is dated 3/30/42. I may have the matching front, although I have not opened it up to check the date.

Internals are complete and cleaned up very nicely. The gears are all excellent, including the pinion.

The exterior is pitted.

The F mark on the long side is nice as seen in the picture. The short side is visible, but a little rougher.

All of the bolts on the hubs are F marked, but some are pitted. I have not removed the drums so I am not sure about any other internal parts. The backing plates are a little rough, but might clean up if you are willing to put in the work.

$400 complete and I am happy to strap it to a pallet and deliver to Fastenal in Sparta, NJ. Open to trades for parts - need MB Seats, Gas Tank, Grab Handles, Top Hardware....maybe other parts too.

Ford didn't date code their axle housings... the ring gear inside is dated though!

I need the long side....in case you decide to split things up.

I don't think I paid far off the asking price just for the long axle. Good deal, shame I'm in the UK or I'd have been tempted.

Axles themselves are sold. The housing and gears are available if anybody wants to make an offer.
