Quick question. Would my VEP have an F script pintle hook and eye bolts? I've looked around for an answer and can't find one.

Thanks!
from the factory, F marked pintle and 4x 7/16" bolts. I suspect they were Ford-style, plain head bolts. Once the MWO was applied for the trailer light socket, chain eyes would have been fitted.

FURTHER, the early pintles had all four holes the same size. The MWO called for the bottom two holes to be drilled out to accommodate the ever so slightly larger diameter of the eye bolts. You can force eyebolts through the smaller holes... that's how my pintle is. Early pintles also had "Ford" script on the bottom jaw opposite side of the "F", but I'm not sure when that feature went away.

Hello All.

I made some progress over the past couple weeks. Continued to break down the replacement engine.

The head was milled, tested, media blasted and painted. I cleaned, media blasted and painted the thermostat housing as well. I'm very happy with the way they turned out.

I was able to remove the driver's side fender and grill and finally able to get a full view of the frame number because it was very close to the fender.

I received my beautiful intake manifold from Chris in record time and decided to mount it on the engine to see how it looks. Well that led to mounting the carb, then the throttle linkage, the engine valve cover and so on. I guess it is a good idea to mock up the engine before I rebuild it to see what I'm missing or have incorrect. Let me know what you guys think. Does this look correct for a VEP engine?

Did Ford use Purolator oil canisters on their early engines as well (The one on the right. :-))?

Hi, I am Wonder that You have any other photos of restoration, This GWP is interesting for me. because I have VEP 2996 which has the same DoD like Yours and was made in the same factory. I want to compare some details. If You have more photos from restoration please post them.

thx
