taillight question

Post by 1943Willysgpw » Wed Apr 22, 2015 7:55 am

What taillights do I need? What I mean is, I have seen some marked C-B and Guide. Which or what do I need for my VEP GPW?

Neither, you need plain one's. Have you had a look on Jon's JeepDraw? it gives you all the information that you need.

BUCKETS -Olive Drab Inside & Outside. Buckets are "F script" stamped

Base plate and studs are Cad Plated. Ford Plate studs are "F" marked

DOORS are Plain, unmarked i.e.: Not F marked. Early Ford used a rubber seal between the light housing and the body tub.
The unmarked Ford tail lamp doors can be separated from other "unmarked" doors by looking at the "drain" fold on the lower section.
BULBS - Plated Cases, not Painted "F" marked.

If you go on Jeepdraw there are some images, but not of the doors. Hope this helped?

You need the "F" buckets with the early brass connectors (not steel as were the later ones). If you find any extra, please let me know!

I have one on my jeep. It is a little rough. I will retore it and try and use it for reference.
Just wanted to make sure it was the right one before I planned on keeping it.
Thank you both for the help.
