Re: Question about VEP 1871
If the part did not change from the GP to the GPW then the original GP part number remained on the parts used on the GPW.

Just to add to that,
Your pictures show a differential centre assembly and cover.
This part remained the same after the GP and all that happened is the axle tubes of different lengths for the GPW where pressed in and plug welded.

Re: Question about VEP 1871
I noticed that on my 45 after someone told me on a different thread. I thought my GPW had GPW embossed in it. I was wrong. Tell me more about the numbers being different.

Read it wrong. He said differential. not different. Needed my glasses.

Re: Question about VEP 1871
lol...ok. All the parts inside the center, front and rear, should be the same numbers as GP stuff, except possibly the gears. I can't remember. All that stuff in there, to include shims, is F marked, if you haven't been into one, it's pretty neat.1943Willysgpw wrote:Read it wrong. He said differential. not different. Needed my glasses.
How much slop do you have? and are your gears worn?

Re: Question about VEP 1871
The gears look awesome. I haven't taken it completely apart but, the visible wear is minimal.

Re: Question about VEP 1871
When I get home I will check the slop.
