Did the early jeeps have GP parts????

If the part did not change from the GP to the GPW then the original GP part number remained on the parts used on the GPW.

Just to add to that,

Your pictures show a differential centre assembly and cover.

This part remained the same after the GP and all that happened is the axle tubes of different lengths for the GPW where pressed in and plug welded.

I noticed that on my 45 after someone told me on a different thread. I thought my GPW had GPW embossed in it. I was wrong. Tell me more about the numbers being different.

lol...ok. All the parts inside the center, front and rear, should be the same numbers as GP stuff, except possibly the gears. I can't remember. All that stuff in there, to include shims, is F marked, if you haven't been into one, it's pretty neat.

How much slop do you have? and are your gears worn?

The gears look awesome. I haven't taken it completely apart but, the visible wear is minimal.
