Re: Attention April-June 1942 Louisville GPW owners
If you found similarities in those things that were put on AFTER the jeep was delivered then perhaps more than a few of the April/June 1942 Louisville GPWs went to the same base and had the same kinds of things put on in the same place/style/font/color/etc. by the same motorpool under the supervision of the same person?

Exactly Chuck! There seems to be too many of them with close date of deliveries from Louisville that have the exact same markings/modifications made to them. I'm hoping that (assuming we can get any participation from others on the "g") we might be able to learn a little more about where these particular vehicles served.

Unfortunately no other markings were found as the outside looked to have had several areas sanded and painted with what looked like house paint !

Hi Adam, sorry it's been so long...I got a chance to take pics of the jeep's rear wheel wells and yes there are mount holes on both sides...I also razor bladed the paint layers on the inside lower windshield and revealed a few stencils on the different layers. I will email them to you today or tomorrow or post here along with another better pic of the yellow star. Andy

antenna holes? ( top of tub seen under spare tire)
Superfex heater
Superfex heater holes (notice how the generator splash shield was mangled to provide clearance for the heater)

Stencil on windshield and dash ( notice LIMIT is spelled LMIT and there is another stencil just to the right for the tire pressure. )
