Post by John-airadt » Tue May 28, 2013 7:39 am

Hello,

I discovered this Date Code on the transfer Case emergency brake housing GPW7769
I believed to read B 42 but now I can confirm 8 42 (August 1942) see the pic
Image

Looking for others examples

In fact my GPW is a 42, rebuilt with ass of crate 44'GPW
But the engine is the GPW67782, the speedo is an early SW, the Windshield frame is an early , the fenders ....
Thank you for answers

I have several and none have anything whatsoever stamped on them. I have not heard anything about any stampings such as this being a method of dating a Ford T/C.

The DOD for the GPW67782 is circa Sept 23rd or 24th 1942, and the T Case built in August 42 could match ?
