Original Ford GP tire size?

Post by cjones56 » Tue Sep 06, 2016 9:06 am

Hi guys! First time poster. I have a 41 GP I found in a barn along with a few other jeeps a few months back. I looks to be a second series from the research I've done. The tires are dry rotted and won't hold air. I need to get it rolling so I was just going to purchase a new set of Coker Military tires for it. My question is what size tire did they originally have? It has the original solid wheels on it. I'm thinking it had 6.00-16s but not sure. Thanks

As per a post here by Jim Gilmore in 2010 your second series GP would have come with 6.00X16 tires. Evidently some GP's in the first contract came with 5.50X16 tires.
