Engine block identification

Post by Ladislav » Mon Aug 22, 2016 12:07 pm

I did find in one MA running here in CZ for me "unknown" engine. The block is identical with the MA/MB early blocks, has ovali area for engine number stamping (the number is grinded away), has long horizontal slot where block meets water pump.
Unfortunately all identificatins like where usualy "638632" is, casting date, etc. are grinded away.
The interessting thing is the number "551" casted on block wal obove the distributor.

What engine block is that?

If its a WO-Wilson block it should have a date stamped on the pan rail.

Good day Lad. I don't know what to tell you about the 551 number on the block. I can't say that I remember ever seeing or noticing the number 551 on any blocks. But maybe I just did not notice.

Thanks Roger

This is the reason I am here. I never have seen any number casted above the distributor on Willys block.

I have seen them advertised in France now and then. Could be produced there. Think you need this engine head for it Image
