I think the screws are put in place when the horn was repaired.

It is not impossible for both types of horn to have been used on the GP but For what it's worth, seven years ago I bought three unrestored GP's and they all had the horns with the rivets. I think it's more likely that if a GP horn had to be repaired they would replace the rivets with screws and not the other way around. By the way two of them were second series and one a first series.
