Well I still haven't been able to personally see the 4WS GP. A friend saw it and took a few pictures today. If they are digital I will post them. He said it was S/N 15793. Did GP S/N go that high? Is it on the GP S/N list?

Not sure if this is the "replica" 4WS that Jim Gilmore saw in Iola.

GP 15793 would fall in line with the GP's that are listed as 4 wheel steers...well almost...it is a couple hundred jeeps down the line but real close I guess. It would also be the last one on my list of ten that people have shown or sent me info on. So the question is, wheres the pics? We need to see some of the stuff on this jeep to decide its fate... :P Fake or real, it is a GP and that in itself is pretty cool don'tcha think?

Yes, GP motor numbers go higher than that....

Are you sure the number wasn't 15593 ?

That is a 4 wheel steer that is/was in MN. It would be Bill Raasch's GP.

The other 4WS in WI is Chet Krause's ...that one has a made-up rear axle.

The Krause one is 15305.

I don't believe it is in the hands of Mr. Raasch anymore. Our friend in Belgium has it now and boy does it ride and drive nice. :D

Yes, I like the looks from the frog eye tail lights.
This GP was indeed from Mr. Raasch.
He made a nice video tape from the unrestored drive line for a friend of his that was restoring another 4WS.
He pointed out the differences between a STD and a 4WS GP and showed how things work.
I bought it in pieces with a brand new Jon Geesinck body.
This body was converted to a 2 WS GP body and sold.
The body currently on this GP is an original restored with donor parts from 3 body's of which one was another 4WS.
The second 4WS jeep didn't have anything left other then the data plate, that I sold to a collector in Luxembourg.
Unfortunately I do not remember the serial nr. anymore.

S/N15793(?) was not owned by Chet Krause. I now know where it is located and will need to take a special trip to get photos. Might not happen till spring. The owner is willing to part with it, but thinks it worth $400K. Sorry to keep you guys waiting. My friend did take a cell phone picture, which I will try to get today.

I don't even think Bantam pilot No.1 would get 400K. David

Talking about Bill reminded me of this rare bottle of wine that he presented me with many years ago.....

OK, slow but steady. Here is a picture of the 4WS Jeep. Also, got a little history from the previous owner. He stated he bought it from a farmer in the 70's and it was a 4WS at that time. Later sold it to present owner who refurbished it in the 90's. He also mentioned the steering has a special or second gearbox? Does someone have a picture of that so I can verify it is correct?
