Hello Maurizio,

I'm a bit confused :? :? what do you mean by a mess around March 1941 :?: Or is the modified list a mess   with Sept & Oct at the top :?

Ford GP production was really hitting the straps in March with quite a lot of jeeps being assembled/delivered.

I have 8616 with dod March 6th - original plate

REAL jeeps have BAR GRILLES and FLAT FENDERS. The rest are imitations.

There is of course, only one number on any Ford of this time period..the motor number. The body/chassis number was always the motor number.

There is no number breakdown for which were 4WS or 2WS. there are occasional notations in the daily production reports as to 4WS but not all.

"..Do you have a photo of your original 4WS 15240 to post?..."

I haven't found the album with the GP photos yet.....

You ask
What is assembly order.?
The assembly order is the order in which GPs were assembled. Like 1st GP down the assembly line then...

always known that GP's were built in assembly islands rather than in a line...

Humm...I'm beginning to think you don't believe I own any GP's... :-)

I'll dig some out or go over to my storage and shoot a few of the three that are there this weekend.

in the mean time...here's a photo of Brian Wolf's GP...just one of several I have of it.....(and about 40 + other GP's in WW II )

Jim, interesting, looks like they mounted the spare wheel on the side at one time. Looks like 5.50 bent bars on vehicle and a 6.00 ND spare. David

vehicles I'm sure of their USA numbers are:

GP15594 -> USA W 2030399 (really, I just found USA 2030399, "W" dropped...but they were white letters and so maybe a later paint job)
Converto -> USA 0877889
Cushman Package Kar -> USA 6126522

then, a veeeeery good guess is with GPW 186225 -> USA 20518894 (as I know for sure of GPW 186220 with USA 20518889)

Maurizio,

Did you take a photo of the Carburator on the blue/green GP?

Maybe you can post that photo ....

I paid $700.00 for that GP with a parts GP thrown in with it.

The Red GP I bought for $300.00 just because it had the original horn!

...and it runs....

Now , the first GP I bought I paid a lot more for , $1,100.00 .... because it was really great shape, all matching, came with a parts GP and... this......
