Ambulance. USMC 86320

Post by Ian Fawbert » Thu Jul 06, 2017 3:38 am

Just digging through the web as you do and came across this one. USMC 86320? (I think it is an 8 ).

No info (it was in pinterest).

I did a quick search and it didn't come up with the USMC number as being written about on the G before, so I am sorry if it was/has been seen before.

Thank you Farrell.

After the restoration of Korean independence in 1945, the Taegukgi remained in use after the southern portion of Korea became a democratic republic under the influence of the United States but also used by the People's Republic of Korea. Following the establishment of the Republic of Korea in August 1948, the current flag was declared official by the government of South Korea on October 15, 1949,[4] although it had been used as the de facto national flag before then.[6]

So when was this photo taken?

That is a great picture. I first saw this pic years ago in
a Military Vehicle mag. I think there is another ambulance
behind the first. I have run across other photos taken at this site
but in other books. If you have a copy of Jeeps Over The Pacific
look on page 177. The photo shows the back of a amb jeep and
says it was taken near Seoul 1950. Also in a 1950s VFW book about
Korea there is a photo of Marines carrying a stretcher with a amb
jeep and same buildings in the back ground. If I remember right
these photos may have been taken from a film. This vehicle is
featured in one of the US Army's Big Picture TV programs number
TV-172. About 6 minutes in.
