On a couple of the D Day trips to France, I've seen an M-26 and they are spectacular up close. I certainly wouldn't like to pay the fuel bill.
Is the plane a Junkers JU-52 or is it a Ford Tri-Motor ?

Derek.

Hello Derek, the plane is a Junkers JU-52.
Those M-26 are very big but also very nice trucks to drive with. Although not on commercial roads!
They are offered for sale on regular base over here and a good friend of mine has now a M26-A1 for sale...

Yep... a JU-52.

I sure would like to have an M26 with the M15A2 trailer (although I don't know why!). I doubt I could negotiate some of the turns on the country roads leading to my home.

I know there are a few M26's here in the United States but most available M26's are in Europe. Too bad we cannot import US made armor. I guess we could import the M26A1 but it just does not have the appeal of the M26 to me. Stupid restriction!

I saw 2 M-26's at the Marshall Museum in Overloon, one had armour, the other didn't, but both were in mint condition. As nice as they are, I'd prefer a HST!
