Re: M3A1 scout car, need parts
I want to apologies to the seller of the $13,000 engine . I did not have all the info about it. There are many extra parts that is included in the price, transmission ,etc. When I see any parts related to a scout car, I put it right out to the forum because I know how hard theres parts are to find and once they are advertised they sell quick. Believe me, I have waited too long and lost out on many a part.
So I think if you see and price on a part that is to good to be true, it probably is to good to be true. I think it works the other way also, If the price is ridiculously too high, there is probably something wrong. Its always good investigate further before we put something out online. Lesson learned here . Sorry for the confusion, Rob

Need to talk with you regarding the Trans for the Scout Car. I have it in my possession and am getting ready to construct the shipping crate. Don't want to go thru all that work if you decide you don't want it. Please PM me with your contact info.
Thanks, Ed K.

If I don't hear from you my COB on Friday, March 23rd, I will take it that you were not serious about the trannie and will sell it to another individual who has expressed interest in it.

m18tank if you can't find the correct JXD I have one you can have for no charge. The caveat is it is still installed in a scout car in Colorado so I can't pull it until the next time I'm out there which will be a few months more than likely. The motor would need a complete rebuild and almost certainly need to have the cylinders sleeved.

Good condition, solid case. Some pitting on some of the gear teeth but my trans guy tells me that they're solid and may make some noise. No shifter lever with this. I do have another individual who wants this if the original seller doesn't commit by 5 PM EST today. If that falls thru, I'll contact you and provide photos then.Fordgunjeep wrote: ↑Thu Mar 22, 2018 8:37 pmWhat condition is this tranny in? How much? Do you have pictures

Friend,
I may have an extra JXD and parts. Let me know what you are looking for. Bob Gillard rebuilt my SC a few years back and we bought about 3 SCs to complete mine. So I have a few extra things.

Re: M3A1 scout car, need parts
Hi Matt, I am looking for a lot, I’m starting to feel like this project might be bigger than I can handle. Do you have an engine, transfer case, transmission and a skate rail?

Re: M3A1 scout car, need parts
Friend,
I do have an engine.
No on the transfer case. But I do have parts for the transmission.
The skate rail is being reproduced by someone here on the G. It is getting good press. So check it out.
What else are you looking for?

I'm being told that that the transfer case is the holy grail of scout cars, is this true?
