Yeah I think the museum was in Largos,Fla and the turret they had was intact like the one pictured sitting on the ground. The museum owner purchased it off of Dave Uhrig's site quite a while back. Like others have posted, it certainly would be cool to have the where-with-all to combine the turret & hull from this thread to make a complete M103. Don't think there are any of those in private hands...

I had forgotten that he (Jaques Littlefield) had one  . Now it's in Maine? Well, it's closer to me now then it was on the W.Coast. If memory serves, the A2 version was used by the USMC and shared tracks, road wheels and the power pack with the M60?

To the OP, thanks for sharing pics of your M103. It's cool to see some of these MVs sitting in repose, unrestored.

The turret is still there. The museum has closed until the board of directors decides what to do with the entire collection. I know the Historian there personally and may be able to update someone if they need more info.

To all wondering what has become of the Armed Forces History Museum in Largo. FL. All the items have been bought by an individual and the museum is cleaned out. I do know that all the firearms were kept in the family who owns the museum. Additionally, I contacted Rock Island Auctions in Illinois and they confirmed that there will be items from that museum coming up for auction in September but didn't have the items catalogued yet. Look at their website for updates. Maybe a few of us will get lucky as bidders. Good hunting to all!

Update on museum. According to a local paper article all of the items in the museum were purchased by an anonymous buyer. No details were provided. I'm pretty certain the mystery buyer is another non profit holder. Maybe we will see the museum restored in another location ???? The items being sold through rock island auctions may be items the unknown buyer didn't need or had replicas of??? Anyone's guess now. Very secretive purchase.

It was rescued by Drive-a-tank out of Kasota Minnesota and they found a turret for it, maybe one day people can actually go drive it there, good save Tony and the crew!
