Post by algor » Thu Feb 14, 2013 1:14 pm

Last week I have found this complete and NOS Tool kit for G103 Stuart tank in exceptional conditions.

The bag is complete with all wrenches for the Continental W-670 maintenance

The offset box-end stub wrenches 20446 and the flare-nut wrenches 20483 & 29520 are marked "Blue Point Boxocket" with data code "1" for 1941 on the reverse side
The offset box-end wrench 2805A is marked Bonney and the plain finish is tipic of the wartime years
The screwdriver is Stanley

Some other small things are still in cosmoline wrapped with original tag

Thanks for posting the close-ups of the tools in your kit, Alberto. I was thinking (and maybe hoping...) that the dwarf DBE was a Blue Point Boxocket, but I can see that that is the Bonney. That deteriorating label on the Stanley screwdriver is a head-scratcher to me. I've never seen anything like that on a NOS tool. It appears to be a reseller's label. Can you transcribe what it says? More importantly, can you make out what the original markings are underneath the label? I see the STANLEY name and the stock number etched into the ferrule. I'm most curious about what the word directly beneath the brand name could be, as it is probably a model designator. I see an A preceded by either an S or a C. The screwdriver looks like a HURWOOD No. 20 so I have no good guesses. Thanks.

Alberto,
Nice close up photos! The flywheel wrench is 2 5/8 in. The push rod wrenches are 1 1/16 and 1 1/4 inches. Interesting that there is only one spark plug wrench. In the Stuart manual it lists 2 different types of spark plugs: Champion 63S, they are 1 inch and BG-413 and they are 11/16.
Thanks,
