Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
Here are some pics of the new master cylinder beside an original Wagner-Lockheed. The one that failed was a French master cylinder that we have not removed from the vehicle yet due to packing up for the Reading Airshow. We will have it installed probably mid next week and will let you know on the peformance. We have to remove the check valve first!

New master cylinder bolted in flawlessly. The primer handle and pressure switch wire bolted right up on the right hand side. It operates perfect, we now have brakes! I will continue this on another thread later.
Thanks again,
Brian

I tried looking up the part numbers and could not come up with anything online. Does anyone else have any success?
Thanks,

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
Regarding axles, I've always wondered if Ford used any civvy axle parts when they designed the M8. Or if the military parts were purpose built did they use any of them after the war in civvy trucks? Maybe the axles are too wide. One would think our answers might be found in the vintage commercial truck hobby. If anyone knows of people into 1940s-50s Ford trucks, please ask them to measure the width of the assembly, and take a photo of the differential. That would be a good start. My rear axle measures 72.25" to each brake backing plate. The short side is 23" to the diff joint. Obviously the armored cars had attaching points for the torque rods and tubes welded on, and I have no idea if any tandem axle trucks had this type of suspension. But if a civvy axle is identical otherwise, it brings up the possibility of saving a badly damaged diff housing by cutting it off and welding in a civvy one.
Brake backing plates ditto. Did any commercial trucks use 15" brakes with wheel cylinders at 3 and 9 o'clock?

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
The master cylinders photographed in an earlier post appear to be identical to that used on the GMC CCKW. This cylinder carried on in the M35 trucks though mounted differently so not all had all of the side bosses drilled and tapped.
Hercules JXD VRS and overhaul gasket sets are readily available from Ross Prince of Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia. These gasket sets are originally for Studebaker US6 but they should be close to if not the same as that for M8 and M20 also White M3A1.
Hope this is of some help.

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
Does anyone have the current part numbers for the point set, condenser, cap and rotor for the M8 / 20 distributor?

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
That would be good info for the list. Worth putting the question on a new post to reach more viewers.

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
If no one that owns an M20 knows the current part numbers for the points and condenser, what are you folks using to keep your vehicle running when these parts fail? Does any one have a source to obtain NOS ignition parts? Thanks, Ron

Re: M20 / M8 Parts Crossover Chart
I'd like to find out if M3A1 Scout Car pressure plates and clutch disks will work on the M8/M20. They both use the Hercules engine. I have the G136/G176 Ord. But the product numbers don't match between vehicles. The serial number of my M20 is # 2581C. By the way does anyone know what year this vehicle was made in Chicago?
Thanks.
Patrick
