I think it is picture time. Gimme a few and I'll post a pic of them side by side with a ruler.

Ok guys, HT rim is the green one, M20 rim is the powder coated grey. Not as much difference as I thought, M20 is a half inch taller. When I put the M20 rims on my scout car i was worried about the tires being to close to the frame but this explains why i couldn't see any difference.

Now THAT'S what I'm looking for :D . Thanks Clint. Photos do tell the story. Now we all have a way to understand wheels we see out there.

You win the prize - lodging for three nights at the largest bi-annual military vehicle event in the western U.S., Camp Delta at Tower Park, September 25-30, 2007. I will host you in my camp, where you will have the choice of luxurious sleeping arrangements in your choice of WW2 mountain pup tent, standard G.I. pup tent, or you can curl up in the M20(A1) on the new troop seat resting on G506's cool hardware 8) (thanks John). You do have to pay for your own transportation... :P And if notice is short, we can discuss you attending the bigger event next April.

Wow, vintage thread! I have since found a wheel, thanks Steve A.

What's next - Jon Heyworth bringing back the "which is better - M8 or M20" thread???

OK guys lets clear a few things up first.

The M8/M20 and the M10 ammo trailer uses the same combat wheel. The M10 trailer uses a 9.00X20 tire. Not sure what the M8/M20 uses. Offset for these wheels are 9-1/4 inches.

The halftrack uses a similar wheel but different offset (backspace). Offset is 8-7/8 inches.

Here is a link I did a while back http://halftrackinfo.com/index.php?topic=1784.0.

Autocar, White, Diamond-T halftracks and White Scoutcars used a 8.25X20 tire. (You con not use a 9.00X20 tire on these halftracks as it will throw off the ratio in the front and damage your transmission/transfer case.)

International halftracks used a 9.00X20 tire. International used a completely different drive train.

On all the combat wheels there are differences in the scallops (holes) in the front. Some are deeper than others and the number may vary. Some don't even have scallops at all. My wheels on my halftrack were made by Firestone. They have an "F" stamp on them similar to Ford's "F" stamp.
