Great 4x4!

Post by karoja » Wed May 02, 2007 10:39 am

I have been really enjoing my Unimog 404 DoKa, which allows me to combine my love for vintage 4x4s with real 4x4 driving. The new tires obviously are also helping:

Thanks, Ted, sold the Swiss, and got this for X-Mas. Built in 1966, first used in 1967 as a "Pionier" (similar to the US Rangers) in the German Army (Bundeswehr), then used in the Bundeswehr driving school. Afterwards given to the voluntary fire departemnt of Stadt Mellrichstadt in Germany until 1983, after which it was sold to a private owner, and then exported to me in Guatemala. By the way, this particular Unimog is pictured in the latest geman Unimog book about Unimogs as fire/rescue engines.

Am really enjoing it, as it also allows me to share my enthusiasm for offroad with my 3 kids and wife, of which the latter enjoys the scenery, but is not quiet sure why her husband loves playing in the mud!

Where is the drivers door? Did you remove it so you can bail out when stuck in the mud :D It is nice to your family ride along and not be cramped! Take care.
