Surprised this didn't happen sooner

Post by Buggy Man » Mon Jun 26, 2006 6:06 pm

Well like the title of my post reads I am surprised that there wasn't a page for 'Mog guys on this board sooner. But hey I'm not complaining! I wonder if a Pinzgauer or maybe a Volvo page will follow? :) I've driven a diesel 416 and the 404 gasser both were nice trucks Than again so was the Pinz as well. It's good to know that these trucks have a fan base here on the G!

Why not a combonation Unimog/Pinzgauer/Volvo board? That way you can have enough postings to keep it going.

Just my two cents.

I like the idea of Alfred's since I have a 1975 Unimog 406 Ex-German Military with dozer and backhoe. Awesome truck but can get stuck in 5.5' of water and mud!

Thanks Ron!

I just thought a combo might generate a little more traffic in the short term with the possibility of splitting the boards later. I am trying to sell my jeep and my 52 chevy right now so I can buy a 712 M Pinzgauer.

I know a couple guy's who have 710 K radio vans and I've been bitten by the bug pretty hard.

I would propose we open this forum for Unimogs in general, and ask Ron to openone one for Steyr-Puch, which would encompass the Haflinger and the Pinzgauer. As for Volvo, I do not know if there are enogu varinats to warrant a separate forum.

Any idea if we should include the defunct Hanomag as a separate forum?

I too like Alfred's idea of combining all three into one board. If one or two generate more postings than the others Ron could split them off to a separate page(s).As for the one that doesn't do so well, those few posters can still post on the "other MVs non US manufacture" page. Alfred I got a chance to drive a Pinz 712 and I liked it better than either Mog (for on road stuff anyway) It's a really cool small 6X6 well, compared to most 6x6s out there I think you'll really like that rig and will have a lot of fun with it as well.
