Considering a 404 who has parts?

Post by Buggy Man » Sun Dec 16, 2007 9:41 am

Hey
I'm considering the purchase of a Unimog 404 (gasser) that is in overall very good condition. The truck is complete but, not running. Any suggestions as to who I can buy parts off of to support/repair these vehicles?
Matt

Ted
thanks for the heads up on the suppliers. I was kind of under the impression that Sean (from Euro truck importers) was not doing a whole lot with the older 404 series 'mogs anymore but I could be wrong. I've heard of the other two dealers you mentioned. I've been out of the "loop" in regards to these machines, for a while and had forgotten who sells what. You are probably already aware of this site but, www.rockymountainmoggers.com is a really good place for information about these vehicles as well as listing parts dealers for them.

Matt,

Yeah, I know of Rocky Mountain Moggers but I just never visit there. I do use the benzworld.org forum for information on mogs. But most of the time I keep to myself with my 406 for it is more of a work than play machine. My other mv's keep me busy here and on steelsoldiers.

Regards,

Ted

Try als Scott Ingham at www.expedition-imports.com. There are plenty of spare parts around for the 404 in the US.

Thanks for the reply! It's been so long since I was first bitten by the 'Mog bug that other things have come up and I forgot who most of the parts guys for Unimogs were. I was going to post a second topic concerning the conversion of a gas engine'd 404 into a diesel but I see you already posted an inquiry. Have you had any luck with your conversion?

Hi Buggy Man, am not proceeding with the conversion. It does not make sense economically considering the few miles I drive the truck. Happy New Year!
