Similar dimension can be found on drive shaft companion flange bolts of some 40's-50's 6X6 Trucks. Check your used nut and bolt boxes. One identifier is thicker head.

Will check my ORD 9's for Driveline Bolts on CCKW, M-211, and M-35 and go from there. Might get a match, might not, but it's worth a try. Big thing is head thickness and marking. Am thinking the Willys drawing for the Pintle Hook Bolts, WO-6923 will shed light on these most south after bolts.

The OEM bolts for the short jackshaft to the X-Mission/X-Fer on CCKW would have been good candidate as they have a bare shoulder, same goes for the 4 Bolts on the CCKW that attach the rear driveshaft to the parking brake flange. I saved a lot of them back in 70's-80's and searched for the right coffee cans. Will look at my CCKW shelf to see if any may be there.

I just checked my Sept ‘44 MB # 369488 and the bolts look to be plain head. I can’t say that they were ever switched out but everything looks “original” to me and there is OD on the bolt heads under the layers of civilian paint. I’m positive my Oct ‘44 MB # 379204 had C/TR marked bolts but I need to find the drawer they’re in so I can confirm for you...but I can’t confirm that they were there from the factory.

Anyway, just trying to help.

Thick heads are one identifier.

Michael O. says.
but I can’t confirm that they were there from the factory.

If the Bolts that you have are fine thread 7/16" X 1 1/8" long they are probably original to the factory. Most of the time replacement generic bolts longer than 1" are usually sized in 1/4" increments. ie 1", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" and so on. A 1 1/8" inch long bolt is probably factory use special order.

I found my Banjo GMC 7/16" Drive Flange Bolts, and just realized that the cap screws for the pintle are NF and the ones I dug out are NC. They do have a shoulder, but are slightly longer. Head markings vary, but I have a feeling that the A-6923 Cap Screws are NF thread. The Banjo CCKW Drive Flange Bolts are NC.
Back to the drawing board. I'll look and see what the Split CCKW Backing Plate Bolts look like, I may have some on the backing Plates I stock, will check M5H6 also. Split CCKW are too long, they are 1-5/8" NF, Pintle uses 1-1/8". Will check the bolt list on CCKW again.

Best candidates are drive shaft bolts for 2-1/2 Ton 6X6 WWII thru Late M-35. Will keep plugging. GM 181396 is 7/16" X 1-1/8" NF. Supposed to go on short CCKW Propeller Shaft, X-Fer to X-Mission. Will keep my eyes open.
