WTB 600-16 NDT Tires

Post by Jos » Wed Sep 13, 2017 6:11 am

Looking for at least 4 good standard military jeep tires, 600-16 NDT, Seattle WA Area.
Including the tubes would be nice!

If you know a good Address in that region that sells them (new or used) I would be happy too. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Jos

JOS,

You can get tires from Summit Racing on line and they will ship them to Seattle for you. I recently bought five Firestone (reproductions - coker mfg) from them. Tires, tubes and flaps. I had no issues mounting them on the combat rims I had restored. The flaps seemed expensive, but they sure worked well and had offset stem holes and the tubes had offset stem holes as well.

Frank,

Thanks for your advice. I looked at them. I was advised to use Goodyear for my Willys as Goodyear was used by Willys and Firestone by Ford. I'm a sort of a rookie, just repeat what other people say.

Ron advised me to go to Lucas Classic Tyres, so I think I go for that option, if nobody has some used ones in the Seattle area he wants to sell.

Regards,

Jos

These are "correct" tires for a 1943 MB?

alphado, depends on how correct you want to be.

They are NDT's and the correct size, but these Goodyears below are more accurate for the MB. Certainly more expensive, but a great looking tire and like Jos said Goodyear is what Willys used for that jeep. Details like the sidewall markings and the sharp points on the tread...

Beers,

Exactly what I understood too. By the way: LucasClassicTyres sells that specific tire as well:

Another difference is the PLY rate. It's 4 vs. 6 PLY, does that matter?

Thanks,

Jos
