Steering column switch box
Just received a steering column switch box from John Emery and it is a real quality piece of work. Much nicer that the original box, complete with a bottom panel, all hardware, and appears to be cad plated. All for $35. Great work, John!
Not shown are the 4 bottom mounting screws.
Additional U-bolt mounting hole allows you to mount the box at two different angles on the steering column..
Box bottom adds a nice finished touch.

Re: Steering column switch box
I have been using the two switch setup that I got from you, really like the way it looks, but for a fat guy like me, very hard to reach from the seat. I got into a situation recently where I could not get to the kill switch in time and got thrown from the mule and broke my right foot. Going to have to change back to the column mount switch.

Chuck sorry to hear that you broke your foot. Yes the switch is difficult to get to when age and flexibility is on the difficult side. I noticed the foot basket top clamp chain is mounted differently than the original mounting. I will send you the original clips if you want as the top attaches to the underside of the bed. I also have stainless steel weldless chain if needed.

Re: Steering column switch box
Appreciate it, Charles, guess I will just leave it as it is for now. Appreciate all the thoughts, got pretty banged up, left shoulder rotator cuff is torn, broken bones in right foot, but slowly healing. Was on schedule to have right knee replaced (2nd time), but now will have to reschedule until after I heal! Have been thinking of just getting rid of the mule, but it's such a hit at the shows! (my wife hates it!)

Glad to hear your going to survive Chuck. I can understand your affection for your mule, I cannot think of a military vehicle that most of us can afford that attracts so much attention, (probably because they are so unusual).
I tell my wife how fortunate she is that I like the smallest MV made, but she doesn't seem to buy my line.....

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my PM the other day Chuck! I wouldn't have bugged you with such a random, unnecessary question if I had known!!
Get well soon!
That switch box sure is slick, I might have to get one of those!

Chuck, a mule man without a mule is like a cavalryman without a horse... Heal soon, be well, best wishes.
Lucky for me my wife thinks my mules are the ultimate in cool, as well as the jeeps and other assorted green stuff. A keeper for sure!!!

Eeyore the killer mule is now fixed! John Emery switch box with keyed switch mounted on the steering column within easy reach from the seat.
I need 5 Packard male blankoff plugs, if anybody has any.

Got them, thanks, Charles.
Also, I plan to use the bottom hole in the switch box to mount an ATV-style Safety Tether Kill Switch for "next time"!
