Correct Colors for Slat Brakes

Post by DIEGOTERRERO » Fri Jul 28, 2017 10:10 am

Hello friends
I'm starting to brake my jeep
I need to know the colors of the brake parts.
I understand that:
- the plates are its inner side are rust red primer just like the springs
- the brake shoes are green OD

this is correct?
Some more details.
If possible, I would like to see an image of a finished brake

Thanks in advance

The backing plate on my 1941 MB is red lead or red primer. Not sure about brake shoe metal parts.

My backing plates were a zinc chromate color:

Mine were red oxide and so they are now fresh red oxide inside. Outside would have been OD along with all the rest of the JEEP.
