I thought I'd simply start a new thread about my MB to get a clean start. I got my slatgrill MB home today and was able to remove the frame tag of my Jan '42 Slat for closer inspection. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in another post, the tag was damaged and is in poor condition. The photo isn't the best but under a light I can make out what appears to be 111414? What do you guys think? So, with this evidence and along with the body # of 15203, what is the most likely DoD? How about a close registration number?
I'm planning on having a new set of plates made and would like to have the closest possible DoD estimation.
I appreciate your help!

Hmmm . . . that fourth number is a tough one to decipher. 111?14 for me.

MB 11237 is also 1/12/42.....Jonesy's MB 111627 was a 1/12/42.
So....if that one and Jonesy's were built on the same day so one might assume that 111414 was also.

Re: Slat Serial Number found...need DoD???
I uncovered the assembly date on the front axle....it is 1-13-42. I think it's safe to assume that the front axle is original to this truck. I will look for a date on the rear axle tomorrow. I was going on the assumption that the DoD of this MB could have been 1-13-42 but if the axles were assembled on that date then the DoD might be closer to 1-16-42?

Got the assembly date off the rear axle: 1-8-42.
Most of the time both front and rear axles share the same or nearly the assembly date. So, my front axle was assembled 5 days after the rear axle.
Any thoughts?
