Hello,
I bought a Dale cast jeep many years ago thinking it was a WWII ID jeep. It's very cool, but as you know it's not an ID jeep. I learned a little more about these jeeps, and was under the impression that if it looks like a Dale jeep but the wheel and steering and spare tire etc. are all in one casting, then it is probably an Id jeep made by Framburg in Chicago. I just bought one on ebay which has a notation in the casting that says 1/4 TON TRUCK JEEP. Since it uses the term "JEEP", then I would have to consider that this model is, at the very least, not an early ID jeep, or maybe a later war ID jeep. Is there a good source about these ID jeeps? Any opinions about the history of these "toys"? Thanks
Marv

The link below has some info for you. I checked both my Dale and my solid cast version and they are the same as you describe and the link also.
