1987 M1025 Humvee Slant Back

Post by M1025HMMWV » Wed Nov 29, 2017 10:24 am

Dear G503 community,

You may remember me from my former username:M1025HUMVEE from back in the 2006 era. I can't remember that log in so I created a new one.

I am selling my 1987 M1025 Humvee slant back converted from an M998 and has been painted in NATO woodland CARC paint. The vehicle has all the ammo, water can, .50 cal holding brackets ect. installed as per Military instruction manual with accompanying, ammo cans, water cans, radio telephone and NVG pelican case along with other items. Additionally, I have a replica .50cal machine gun and turret mount along with all the M16 individual brackets installed in each seat. Moreover, the Humvee has been set up as an M1025 Humvee and has all the brackets you'd expect. Humvee has Washington plates and title. I am asking $35,000 or OBO.

Back story: This vehicle has been my pride and joy and I have put in a lot of work into it to bring it to spec. The reason I am selling my Humvee is so that I am establish my family during my transition into the Army. The vehicle is located in Southern Washington State were I grew up while I am stationed at Ft Bragg, NC. I bought the vehicle from a gentleman in Southern California back in 2005. The previous owner bought the HUMVEE at a government auction as the vehicle was possessed by US customs. As the story goes, the previous owners had been trying to ship the Humvee to the Chinese government so that they could reverse engineer it. Once, in my possession in 2005 I began to install the appropriate brackets to reflect that of a government issued M1025. The vehicle saw light use between 2005 and 2008, only going out to the occasional veterans parade. In 2008 I attended a military academy in New York while my parents took care of the HUMVEE making sure to drive it periodically. The Humvee was kept free from the elements and taken care of this way up until last year when my parents sold their land and I moved the HUMVEE to a local storage garage. Moreover, the vehicle has been stored in the garage this way and hasn't been started for about 6 months. As such the battery will likely need to be recharged before the vehicle will start. Since I am on the East Coast I have been trying to get my family to go out and get pictures which I will post later.

Please let me know if you have any interests, questions or concerns.
Best Regards,
Greg

Update: Here is a picture of the HUMVEE in it current state. I will have a specialist come go out to fill the tires with air, charge the battery along with giving it a quick tune up prior to purchase.

Note: Batteries on the ground were the originals. It got new batteries from NAPA two years ago and is installed. Also, you'll see gear on the ground such as B-Pillar, and half door covers for Pick up variant. Other, gear such as .50 cal replica is inside the vehicle.
