armor frame straps
Are both part numbers 29 and 32 necessary? Or both 30 and 33? Or is that a TM goofup? Looks like the quantity for 29 and 30 would be enough so I wasn’t sure if the other similar looking parts were needed.

Re: armor frame straps
After looking at it again 29 and 32 are probably straps and then the hardware connecting them. So maybe my real question is the difference between 30 and 33.

Re: armor frame straps
I didn't notice a difference when I took mine off. #33 is about $39 more expensive than #30.
There are 5 positions on each side. The TM calls for only 1 of #33 per side. That and it's corresponding straps are probably because the middle of the 3-piece frame rails is a smaller circumference than the front or back sections.

29 & 32 are stainless steel bands

Yes, I looked closer at the part number. I’m guessing the last few digits is the length in number of inches.Mark Rozak wrote:29 & 32 are stainless steel bands

Re: armor frame straps
The straps are preformed and not normal hose clamps.

Re: armor frame straps
They are not preformed and they are different lengths. Has to do with where the clamp lands on the REV Frame rail, the REV rails are sleeved and thicker at the center.

I guess mine were formed from being on the frame.Retired War Horses wrote: ↑Mon Mar 19, 2018 6:45 amThey are not preformed and they are different lengths. Has to do with where the clamp lands on the REV Frame rail, the REV rails are sleeved and thicker at the center.
Would anti-seize be a bad idea on the clamp bolts? About half of mine busted while trying to remove them.

Re: armor frame straps
I have a spare 3-piece rail in the garage. Out of curiosity, I used a cloth tape measure....
LH rail circumference.
In front of body mount = 19 1/2"
center section = 19"
rear section = 19"
I got to thinking, how can the center be the same as the rear when the center slides into the rear.
About 8" behind the trans mount holes, the center section slopes down to 17 1/2" circumference to fit into the rear section.
i don't know exactly where the straps mount, but maybe one fits on that smaller section behind the trans mount? I could see the 19" and 19.5" using the same strap.
