Adjusting alternator output on Dual Voltage 200A alternator
I have seen advice regarding setting the alternator output to 28.0 to 28.5 volts. My ammeter is sowing only to the lower third of the yellow portion of the gauge and I am interested in setting the alternator output more towards the green(?). I have seen YouTube presentations, but cannot seem to find the adjuster 'plug' on my 200a dual voltage alternator. Suggestions? Thanks!

Are you reading the guage only after starting or after it has run for a few minutes? It usually takes my 200amp 30 seconds or so before it goes to green. Is this only at idle? If so, raise the RPM with the small screw at end of cable.

Dont think you can adjust output on 200 amp units. 60 amp yes. 24vdc should be 28.8vdc. If it is not charging batteries, check batteries, signal wire and output at 700-800 rpms.
Also gauges suck. Go by volts.

Would just 0.8v make the difference between yellow and green on the guage?

I am not currently having any trouble, just trying to follow as many suggestions as I can that I have been given. I am trusting you guys, and am diligently trying to follow what I consider good advice in making preparations for good a good driving experience. Truck starts and runs fine. I should have tested the voltage rather than just trusting the gauges. The gauge reads about the same at startup and after driving. (just about 1/3rd to 1/2 of the yellow gauge section.) Did not consider faulty gauge. Thanks!

Where is the needle while you are giving it throttle?
