Did the data tag show m1165, because that is an m1152.
What is this?
I haven't seen the newer ones with the interiors painted tan. Also, there is other odd stuff...Some of the heavy interior pieces are still there, the steering column is dropped down, and the blockout panel under it is missing.
It doesn't have the insulated hose running over the motor for the driver floor a/c. It just has an older hose there.

The data tag showed M1165. Besides the conflicting sling and tie down data plate, what are the signs that make you think it is an 1152?
My learning curve is steep on the newer rigs.

Looks to me like a test bed for an electronically controlled stabilization system.
I've seen a couple of companies display things like that at trade shows. I think Meritor had one and so did another company I can't remember off the top of my head.
My guess is that they plumbed the power steering system into the top of the shocks and have a computer controlled actuator to vary the pressure and adjust the firmness or ride height or something.

The Meritor system involves a complete replacement of the suspension and has oversized tires so it's not that:

I have doubts about whether the system in the sold truck even works. This looks potentially like a plug to a missing control box:
Then again, that could just be a data hookup to collect telemetry.
An interesting truck for sure though I wouldn't pay what it sold for, and good luck with support/parts for that suspension stuff.

This looks to me to be an M1152 or at least set up as one when released. Under the rear passenger foot-wells on both sides are the brackets for supporting the front skid plates. These do not exist on M1165, only M1152. Tub was predrilled for rear skid pans but no signs of inner fender brackets to support it. Windshield frame looks to be a soft top with no hardtop spoons or brackets. NSN is for an M998! BTW, data plates on the M1151//52/65/67 are fastened with phillips screws, not rivets, so data plates can be easily removed.

I am going to run the Meritor on one of my truck/capsules and it is a complete replacement of the suspension as mentioned above. On another truck I am running something similar to this truck that was supplied to SOCOM for special forces vehicles. Ted is right, the most accurate data plate is probably the 1152a1 which implies the underbody protection kit that this vehicle clearly supported at one time.
My guess is it might have picked up the 1165 data plate because that looks like a SOCOM like suspension and that it probably tested that way. It really doesn't matter because if it gets SF 97'd and titled as an 1165 parts can be added or deleted to make it what ever version of 1165 you want. You have a titled 1165 with a valid 300000+ number and that makes you one of two that I know of in private hands. Maybe that isn't worth much to the average HMMWV buyer but if I knew I could get it titled that way I would have been interested in it.

You and Ted make some good points Jason, I could be wrong but it seems to me that early versions often only had one A/C unit.

It looks like the shock thingy hoses were disconnected and just hanging in the front bumper. I wonder if something was removed that they were hooked to?
Also, The front of the rear set base looks a bit different to me than what I am used to. The base looks normal, but what is the plate on front with a hole in it?
Speaking of seats...who doesn't love sitting on duct tape when the edges start rolling up?

As far as the hydro hoses that are hanging loose fore and aft, as state above, they probably tied into a manifold that tied into the power steering system, which would also explain the power steering "leak."
This vehicle poses so many questions, not the least of which is why would someone drill a hole in the trans pan? Is it that hard to drop the pan to drain the trans, or is this lazy SOP for rendering mission putaway vehicles "environmentally friendly?"
Inquiring minds want to know.
