1985 HMMWV Windshield Washer Tank Location
I have a 1985 M998 converted to an M1043. Does anyone know where the windshield washer fluid tank goes? There are no sprayer nosels or anything but I need to start with hooking up the tank/pump. My friend has one as well but mine appears to have the heater hoses where his tank is located. I sat the tank there in one picture. The connectors are different as well if those are the correct ones.

Your vehicle is modified in a non typical way. The hole in the mounting tab on your washer bottle usually aligns with the unused hole at the leading edge of the top of the driver's foot well. It shows in one of your photos, but an additional heater core seems to have been added so you can't mount it there, because if you put it on top of what you have, I think the hood will hit it. That weird plug is for the hydraulic fan control system. That also mounts up top and the bracket for the solenoid valve and control unit has been removed. You must have some sort of clutch fan in place, I guess. What is used at the fan, a solid flex fan type setup or some sort of viscus clutch?

Never seen a truck set up with the heater core on the drivers side. Is there also one on the passenger side?
Like Dilvoy said your fan control is supposedly over there. Also normally there is a big multi pin connector coming up from inside from the control box.
Can't tell if it is from the picture

I’ll post some more pictures tomorrow. There is a heater core on both sides. As to the fan, I’ll have to verify. I don’t see any other plugs for a windshield washer pump to connect to.
All I know about this vehicle is that it was one of the original 600 released in the late 90’s.

Is there anything else different that you see?
I’m assuming a civi alternator isn’t a big issue. It also appears to have dual alternators, is that normal?

Here the beast is. You’ve probably seen it on here before, I bought it from a member. I’m pretty happy with it so far.

There seems to be a hefty body lift, eh? Any idea why?

Is there even a fan on that core? It looks like just radiant heat.
Unique things are cool....until you need parts .
I thought that area looks short where the washer tank is in your pic. Here is a pic I found on the web, for reference...

I don’t think there is, it’s just an extra core. I may remove it if it has no purpose....plus it gives me a place to put the fluid reservoir.

It has a 2” lift. It makes it abit different. I also have a MCTAGs cupola for it.
