Rear Warn Winch on MM Rear Bracket

Post by Ted Gates » Thu Oct 19, 2017 4:11 am

It is possible to mount a rear 9k Warn winch on the Mile Marker rear bracket. Drill some holes, set winch. Get pintle bracket, cut bottom off (only use the top half) and then lift into place. I did not take picture of pintle bracket after cutting, but you can sort of see it in one of the pictures.

I know this is not pure for my built up 1152, but is it practical.

Next up is front 12k winch install for this non-rev ecv.

Hello Ted,

I know this is an old post but I have a few questions about physically installing. Did you have to buy large bolts for the A-Arm bolts? Did you remove the springs or how did you install it with jack stands holding the A-Arms? The four bolts where do they mount into the bumper brackets?

My lower a arm bolts were long, but if you have short ones, them you have to replace them. Insert from front to back so the nut is on winch side. I use a floor jack to take pressure off a arm bolts and using another same size bolt, but longer, I tap the new bolt in while to short bolt slides out. Everything stays alinged.

The four bolts? The ones for the winch to plate I had to drill. Might be able to use the existing...don't remember. The other is bolts go to pintle mount.

PM me you number and I'll take more pictures if you want.
