delaminating windshields glass

Post by ohiohmmwv » Sun Sep 10, 2017 11:29 am

Has anyone ever repaired the thick windshields for the hmmwv that you often see delaminated? I was thinking applying vacuum pressure and the fixing with the same glue that windshield crack repair shops use might work. The vacuum pressure would suck the glue in.

Delamination is very common on military vehicles for some reason. "Frosting" along the edges is also common. Unless your dealing with thick armored glass most of us just replace it. It you give it a try there are lots of people who would be greatful, however, most of us also don't have vacuum chambers in the garage large enough to hold a windshield glass.
