Anyone have any pictures showing the difference?

The difference is at the Brake Rotor end of the half shaft. All are 12k and have the same bolt pattern, but there is a difference in the hub centric protrusion that extends into the Diff Output Flanges. The large hub type is the "normal" type as used in all 10.3K and early 12K. The Late 12K half shafts used on the REV Models have a smaller protrusion. The only way to tell is to look end on at the Rotor end of the half shaft or look at the part number. The small hub type will show more space between the hub centric protrusion and the six bolt holes.

Here's the ones on a diff.
Left is M1114 for 12k solid rotors, right is for 10 or 12k vented rotors.

Old thread and have searched many others and was hoping someone could confirm which part numbers are for vented wilwood setups. I’m doing 3.08 diffs with wilwood rotors and brakes. Do I want the half shafts with the RCSK17028 part numbers or the 12460369 part numbers?

Go to my REV1165 build page: page 3 bottom.

I just measured the hole in the wilwood vented rotors at roughly 2.94", so you need flanges close to that.
And, man, it is cold in the garage. It got down in the 50's last night. 8)

What’s confuses me with some of these posts is the pics. First post above says small flange is for solid rotors and large for vented. Found this pic in another post and it’s saying small flange is for solid and large is vented. But maybe I’m confused exactly what the flange is. I’m just looking at the size of the circular end of the half shaft. Unless there are 2 styles of vented rotors? One wilwood and one non-wilwood.

The ends of my REV shafts look like the far right in this pic. I can text some pics tomorrow if you want to PM your number. I am in the process of putting in new rotors.
Solid rotors would not fit between my halfdhaft and output flange.

There are at least 2 styles of 12k, 12" vented rotors. Wilwood 12" rotors use small flange and has a different offset than the other vented 12" rotors.

I've built all three 12k types:

If you are building a true REV, then you require small flanges on differentials, Wilwood vented rotors, 12k small flange halfshafts.

If you are a building an ECV or M1114/13 or early M1151/52, then small flanges, 12k solid rotors, small flange half shafts.

If you are building a 12k A2 truck, then large flange, 12k vented rotors, large flange half shafts.

FYI, 10k trucks use 10" vented rotors and large flange 10k half shafts

Clear as mud?!

That’s the best explanation out there Ted. I’m good now.
